Happy Birthday Dawn!

Its’ one of My Bowen student, Dawn’s, birthday.. As a birthday present, I made her something I haven’t made in 2 years! cupcakes!!!

IMG_0084

The first classic that always finishes up really fast, Cookie Monster!!!! IMG_0085

Who doesn’t like Cookies and cReam really? Remember the first time Oreo was introduced to you? open, Dunk and bite! Well, no milk here, but you can dunk it in the cookies and cream vanilla butter cream frosting..IMG_0086

IMG_0087 A little something for the curious younsters. Alcohol based cupcakes. Bailey’s hazelnut in everybite. Literally. In the cake, in the cream cheese frosting. Not in the hazelnut praline though.. But for Bailey’s lover, this is one to finish up!! Gulp Gulp…

Bailey Praline cupcake… Gulp…

Next Alcohol cupcake, Malibu Rum Coconut cupcakes. Think these ones would be perfect if you were at cafe del mar? By the beach, drinking Pina Colada and eating a Malibu Rum Coconut cupcake. SmileIMG_0091IMG_0092IMG_0093IMG_0094IMG_0095IMG_0096

The chocolate chip cupcake was not as simple as it sounds. Its Chocolate overload. Its like a chocolate chip cookie, but a cupcake version and with rich chocolate ganache, its death by chocolate. Chocolate in every single bite. Only for chocolate lovers. My cousin Jarren had three at one go!!! And chocolate loving husband literally ate it at every tea time and breakfast the past two days!

Happy Birthday Dawn!

22nd April: Future in Laws’ visit to Newton Hawker

DSC00041 DSC00042

The future in laws spent a nice morning at Yohan’s place while I studied CFA. However, I was going to have French lessons in the evening where Yohan’s family decided to go for a shopping at Bugis junction.

After my lesson, I found the heartwarming family waiting for me, with Nicolas, at the first story of Alliance Francaise.. :) All of us were hungry with no food and dinner.. So we walked to Newton Food Centre for a good helping of local delights…

The rice which came along with the satay wasn’t exactly the kind of rice that Patrick would have wanted to eat though… HAhaha… Too sticky and ball-ish I guess..

Suat, Jiemei and I were to meet at Shokudo for dinner to celebrate out 10 years of friendship.. The nicest part? They finally get to meet Yohan!

So, how did we gals celebrate out 10 years anniversary? Nothing beats…. Neoprint!!! :D

Each of this moments costs $10!! But something special this time.. We have Nicolas (Yohan’s buddy) to film down our neoprint process!! It is rather ridiculous, but its such great moments!!

13th Feb 2010: Chinese New Year Eve 2010

It was Yohan’s first Chinese New Year in his life and I was so excited to spend the three days of Chinese New Year with him.. My boy was so interested in the Chinese Culture that I had to research many origins on my own before I could tell him stories about certain traditions.. Haha…

The neighbourhood called in a catering company, Pin Si,to cater to New Year Eve’s Reunion Dinner for about 4 households. My mum had about four tables for our family and Ah Mei auntie;s family..   IMG_2280IMG_2281

The greedy table started the Lo Hei first.. Lol…
