21st April 2010: Meet the Parents at Red House Seafood Restaurant

 DSC00017

Yohan’s parents fainally arrived at the Singapore Changi Airport.. Yohan and I were really excited to pick them as I was discharged in the very same day. Mummy helped to pick them and drop us of at Yohan’s place so that they could take a short break before we went for our delicious dinner..DSC00018

Mummy suggested seafood at East Coast so that we could have the Launays enjoy the wonderful beach and great seafood and Red House Seafood Restaurant..

The total bill came up to over $500 for about 9 of us.. Well, its seafood… :SDSC00020

The upper level of the restaurant was air conditioned.. Thank god for that!! And most importantly, our parents finally got to meet each other.. Only problem was that my mum was speaking English to people who responded to her in French.. It was rather funny.. Haha…DSC00021

7th March: Macarons from Jewels

        P3070895   P3070904P3070898

Yohan bought me Jewels.. For a moment I thought i had a diamond ring.. But he knew I didn’t like diamonds.. So thank god for that.. But he is just so sweet and full of surprises..

So it was actually macarons from Jewels Artisan Chocolate

The flavours were a little weird but some were interestingly likeable..

From the top:
Passion Fruit (Filled with passion fruit conserve & almond cream)
Black palm island salt (Filled with salted egg & almond cream topped with black palm island salt)
Raspberry (Filled with raspberry conserve & rose almond cream)
Butterfly Pea Bloom (Filled with kaya & pandan almond cream)
Green Tea (Filled with green tea & dark chocolate crunchy pearl)

I didn’t really like the fruit ones cuz they were too common… Personally, I liked the black palm island salt.. Probably because I like salted egg… Butterfly Pea Bloom was really weird though.. Pandan and macarons… was not quite a good match for me.. It probably needed something else…

13th Feb 2010: Chinese New Year Eve 2010

It was Yohan’s first Chinese New Year in his life and I was so excited to spend the three days of Chinese New Year with him.. My boy was so interested in the Chinese Culture that I had to research many origins on my own before I could tell him stories about certain traditions.. Haha…

Yohan had his first “Yu Sheng” and the story of Yu Sheng is in the link provided.

The neighbourhood called in a catering company, Pin Si,to cater to New Year Eve’s Reunion Dinner for about 4 households. My mum had about four tables for our family and Ah Mei auntie;s family..   IMG_2280IMG_2281

The greedy table started the Lo Hei first.. Lol…

The food was really good and highly recommended for wedding caterings and outdoor caterings. I think my sister’s wedding was from Pin Si too! :)
