25th Dec 2010: Christmas in Nantes, Paris

Its been a long time ever since I blogged about my Paris trip. Its kind of on my “Ghost to-do list”. Yohan call the “Ghost to-do list” a to-do list where you put everything on but never quite put your hands to doing it. Well, blogging my entire PAris trip was definitely a Ghost to-do list item. Another “Ghost to-do list item” would probably be giving out flyer at schools near my place so that I didn’t have to travel so much. But I have more than enough students at the moment, so I guess that is alright to be on my “GTDL” right?Photobucket
Breakfast in France has always been my favourite. We get all kinds of breads, fresh croissants from the bakery. Ma belle mere, (My mother in law) has this bakery next door. They sell fresh croissants and Yohan’s favourite pain au chocolat (Chocolate pastry buns with strips of chocolate in it). There will be baguette. Everything look so good, its not wonder I gain so much weight from PAris!!

The croissant was always my favourite breakfast food. Except I was more troublesome than the French. They would just eat these bakes cold, but I just had to go toast it. Open-mouthed smile Singaporean style right? It wouldn’t have been good if it wasnt toasted right? Photobucket
After breakfast, we set up the Christmas ‘lunch/dinner’ table. It makes the dining experience more joyful in my opinion. How often we bother laying the able in such a beautiful manner right? And the French eat all day when in comes to gathering. Just seat at the table and eat for like 6 hours? Mamie (Yohan’s grandmother) would exit the kitchen every half hour with something new, and refilling everyone’s plates. If your plate is full, she will ask you to finish your food faster so that she can refill them. If you tell her you are full, she will say its just a little! Eat more!!PhotobucketPhotobucket
Yohan’s very young grandmother from Madagascar in the white flowery shirt, and my thin mother in law (Kinda reminds me how fat I was next to her!) in the dark blue long sleeve shirt. Looks like they were counting people. If there was one thing the French people had, it would be taste. look at the colour match of everything on the table. Isn’t it just lovely?PhotobucketPhotobucket
After the table has been set up, we drove the two dogs, with Patrick (Yohan’s father) to a park not too far from Mamie and Papie’s place. The park was beautiful. Probably one we wont see in Singapore, since most of the trees were botak due to the winter season.Photobucket

Wearing booted heels for a walk was definitely the wrong shoes. My feet was aching within the 1st 10 minutes. I never failed to wonder how girls can actually walk for hours on 5-7 inch heels and platforms. PhotobucketPhotobucket
Check out the frost that remained on the grass and leaves!!!

PhotobucketLooks like a lake house. But I don’t think this one is residential. Its probably a rest shelter or something like that. Wouldn’t mind a home like that though.

Back to Mamie’s for the Christmas lunch/dinner. If you eat lunch from 1pm all the way to 6pm, would you have eaten dinner? Yup. That was what happened. We couldn’t have dinner. Haha..Photobucket
I think that was me at 65 to 70kg! I didn’t dare to even step on the scale. Chubby and round face!!

Patrick’s Sony camera had a really cool panaromic feature. So from left, Jordan, Romain (Yohan’s cousin), Marion (Yohan’s cousin), Yohan, Glutton Claire, Joel (Yohan’s uncle shining too brightly), Marie-Laure(Yohan’s aunt), Serge(Yohan’s maternal grandmother), Joelle (Yohan’s maternal grandmother), Yohan’s granduncle, Isa (My mother in law) and Papie (Yohan’s paternal grandfather)
